Having Trouble Sleeping?

“A ruffled mind makes a restless pillow” Charlotte Bronté

Sleep is a vital, often neglected, component of our health and well-being. When sleep is good it enables our body and brain to repair, restore, and reenergise ready for another day. If we don’t get enough sleep, we may experience side effects like poor memory and focus, low immunity and changes in our mood. Most adults need between 7 and 9 hours of sleep each night. However, what if people have tried the usual ‘sleep hygiene’ advice but they feel their sleep quality could still be improved?

Michelle Cyril, a sleep practitioner and qualified nurse, recently joined the Bramham Therapy team in Marlborough. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), an approach used to treat young people and adults with insomnia / poor sleep. She is also an Advanced Pediatric Sleep Practitioner who is highly experienced in supporting children and young people to transform their sleep.

Michelle is passionate about providing her clients with personalised sleep solutions that are compatible with their lifestyles. Her holistic and scientific approach is foundational to her practice which is embedded in the tailored and comprehensive plans she creates.

Michelle believes in helping all her clients understand the science behind sleep, it will help them say “goodbye to sleep deprivation”. She explains normal sleep and explores what may be keeping them stuck, which can maintain poor quality sleep. Most importantly, Michelle shows clients how to resolve their sleep issues and revolutionise their nights.

How would you rate your sleep? Is it good, maybe it’s fair or frankly not great at all?
