What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a combination of massage and essential oils which work together for particular effects on your whole system.

The treatment will consist of a variety of techniques designed to ease muscular pain, remove tension and soothe your body and emotions. Particular oils will be chosen for their appropriate properties according to your requirements for each treatment. The oils will act both through your skin and as you inhale their aromas and will have specific effects upon you.

Although there are sometimes moments of discomfort if we are working on a particularly “stuck” bit, in general the treatment is relaxing and designed to make you feel calm and peaceful as well as invigorated and cleansed.

Most treatments last for an hour, as this allows you to fully relax, although it is possible to work on your back, neck and shoulders in just half an hour.

Afterwards you should feel relaxed and grounded, but aromatherapy can sometimes trigger strong physical or emotional reactions. This is your body “letting go” and is a natural and cleansing reaction to the treatment.
