Treatments Practiced by Sally Fenton:

Humanistic and Integrative Counselling

Philosophy and style of working:

As a humanistic counsellor I believe each person is an expert on themselves and has the capacity to make changes in their lives for the better. The therapeutic relationship is at the heart of this process. I work by following your lead to explore the areas you wish to focus on. By providing a safe, honest and respectful way of being with you and supporting you, the therapeutic relationship can grow, enabling progress. The integrative aspect of my training allows room to bring in different and appropriate therapies to suit your needs. What is key is that I will listen to your experience and gently feedback what I notice, encouraging you to trust in your ability to find your own meaning and answers.

I offer help with a broad range of concerns including:
Anxiety, general or health anxiety. Depression. Bereavement. Low self esteem. Bullying at school or work. Body dysmorphia. Self harm. Relationship issues. Intergenerational trauma. Coping with a physical health diagnosis.

I can appreciate that choosing a counsellor can seem bewildering as there is a lot to consider and it is such a personal matter. If you email or text me we can arrange an initial appointment which costs £30 for 50 minutes and gives us both the chance to decide if we are suited to work together.

Training and Experience:

I am in my fourth year of the Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling at Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling.

As a trainee I have worked at the Olive Branch in Winchester for two years and at Focus in Bath. Both places provide counselling for a wide variety of clients and issues and at the moment my placement is at Time 2 Talk in Newbury working with 11 to 25 yr olds.

I am insured, am registered with the ICO and have an enhanced DBS certificate. At the beginning of lockdown I did extra training in online counselling.

I have worked as a registered general nurse for many years in various roles and countries which has given me a lot of experience dealing with people in distress.
