Philosophy and style of working:
I am an integrative psychotherapist which means that I use theory from several psychotherapeutic modalities to inform my practice. I have been trained to integrate person centred, relational and psychodynamic psychotherapy into my work. This allows me to be flexible and adaptable with my approach as I feel that therapy is not a one size fits all endeavour. I believe that everyone can benefit from therapy whether you want support with a specific problem such as anxiety or depression, a problematic area of your life such as relationships or you simply want to understand what has led you to become the person you are today. I will always aim to foster a confidential, non-judgemental and empathetic space. This allows you to explore and understand whatever it is that has led you to therapy at your own pace.
Having been trained in relational psychotherapy, I also believe in the healing power of good relationships. A good therapeutic relationship can allow you to work through and integrate emotional injuries and past experiences in a way that is beneficial to you. In our sessions I would gently encourage you to explore possible links between your past and present experiences, your emotions and your patterns of behaviour. I feel that gaining insight in to ourselves, our inner worlds and our relationships with others allows us to move forwards with more self-compassion, understanding and meaning.

I worked in the NHS for over 3 years. Alongside this I also opened my own private practice in 2021 and have been seeing private clients since then both online and in person.
