Philosophy and style of working:
Tracie’s personal approach to therapy is warm, motivating and collaborative. CBT is a goal orientated approach which aims to facilitate self awareness, compassion, learning and development. During assessment and ongoing sessions, negative cycles of experience are identified, which are maintained through unhelpful thinking and behavioural responses keeping you stuck. By learning how to challenge thinking and behaviour, these cycles can be exited, reducing distress and allowing for new beliefs and experiences.
Training and Experience:
Tracie initially trained in the field of developmental psychology and later went on to be awarded a BA (Hons) in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling via Winchester University. She then studied at The University of Southampton and was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for Severe Mental Health problems. After her counselling training Tracie worked at the Priory Hospital, Southampton, for 4 years, offering group work and individual psychotherapy for in and out patients and then later offering CBT.
Tracie has achieved accreditation status with both the BABCP (British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies) and BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) And has been working independently, running a successful private practice clinic for over 10 years. Tracie offers therapy for adult individuals struggling with depression and all anxiety related difficulties.
“I attended CBT sessions with Tracie at Bramham therapy after suffering work related anxiety, stress and depression. I found the sessions positive and helpful in improving my mood/symptoms and assisting me in meeting my goals to get me back to work and improving my mental well-being.” – SP
