Philosophy and style of working:
I specialise in working with young people between the ages of 11 and 25 with extensive experience supporting a wide range of presenting issues including anxiety, anger, self-harm, trauma, relationships and family conflicts. Equally, you or your child might just be searching for a place to talk in confidence about how difficult feelings and emotions are impacting everyday life in a world that is increasingly demanding and complex.
The pressures and expectation of school often feel overwhelming whilst friendship groups and social media expect young people to behave in ways that often take them away from the person they really want to be. I will be there to listen, empathise and sometimes work creatively to find a way across what often feels like a minefield to so many young people today. I will walk side by side with my client as they explore how they are feeling, their present and past experiences, future aspirations and perhaps rediscover what is important to them.
I practice a client-centred integrative approach, tailoring therapy to your unique needs and goals. I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore thoughts and emotions that will lead towards positive change. I will sometimes be curious as a way of helping you to explore your thoughts but always respect that it is your journey.
