Psychotherapy and Counselling
Philosophy and style of working:
Through Caroline’s own professional and personal experiences counselling has taught her that all challenges, no matter how difficult or painful can bring opportunities for growth and empowerment. Counselling is a journey, it can be long or short term but it must have certain factors in place to allow change. She offers you a safe environment where you can feel able to share the issues you are facing, to feel listened to without passing judgment and together looking at ways to create a way forward.
Working with all ages from 3yr to 89yr+ requires different approaches with each individual. As an Integrative counsellor it enables her to draw on several different therapeutic approaches which she tailors to the needs of each client. When working with children she works very gently to understand their life events. By using creative play it allows her to enter their world from their perspective. Caroline has undertaken further specialized training in areas of Child Abuse and Autism along with her CPCAB qualification in Children’s Counselling.

Caroline is a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Working within their Ethical Framework of good practice, it also means she is committed to her personal and professional development as well as attending regular Clinical Supervision. She is DBS checked and holds full Professional Civil Liability Insurance.
Compassion and understanding are a very strong skill set Caroline has when it comes to Bereavement, and working for Cruse for several years afforded her a great deal of experience in this field. Being an animal lover and witnessing at times the grief and loss of a client’s beloved pet led to her Diploma in Pet Bereavement.
Through her experiences of working with children students, adults and couples, she has worked with various issues from bereavement, loss, attachment, family divorce, relationship difficulties, abuse, frustrations, self-esteem, racial discrimination, diversity, safeguarding, FGM, autism, LGBTQ, exam pressure, mental health, PTSD and rape.
